Welcome. It's .

The journey to health often is analogized to a hike up a mountain. The trail is not always straight. There are steep grades, switchbacks, downhill stretches and unwieldy obstacles. The term "Top of the Mountain" signifies the journeys of children and their families toward health, the challenges they face, but, ultimately, the goal that so many achieve.

We have put together a team of runners for the Napa to Sonoma Wine Country Half Marathon and the GunBunFunRun 5K on July 15, 2012. Look for team member donation pages in the coming weeks. Your contributions are a great way to honor our runners and to help families in need at the same time.

Our Mission

To raise awareness of life threatening and chronic diseases afflicting children and to improve the quality of life for children with life threatening and chronic diseases and their families.

What We Do

When a child is diagnosed with a serious illness, families struggle with enormous burdens – treatment regimens, doctor and hospital appointments, surgeries, not to mention ensuring the well-being of siblings and the emotional challenges that they all – moms, dads, brothers, sisters, grandparents and other extended family and friends – face. Regrettably, financial burdens persist as a result of the diagnosis as well.

Top of the Mountain was created to “improve the quality of life” for families such as these, to donate gifts, such as toys, books, games and videos, to them and to facilities such as hospital playrooms. We also pay for items that many may take for granted, but mean so much to struggling families, such as groceries, energy bills, arts and sports programs for siblings, and numerous other day-to-day expenses.
